to visit Japan, other nations on April 15-25 trip
Vice President Mike Pence will travel to Japan and other
countries in the Asia-Pacific region from April 15 through 25, the
White House said Thursday.
Pence will arrive in Japan on April 18 for a three-day stay,
during which he is to meet with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and lead
the inaugural U.S.-Japan Economic Dialogue with Deputy Prime Minister
He is also scheduled to make a speech to the U.S. and Japanese
business community and tour the U.S. aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan
based at the U.S. Navy's Yokosuka base near Tokyo.
The trip, Pence's first official visit to the region since
taking the vice presidency in January, will also take him to South
Korea, Indonesia and Australia. (April 6)
