Mas Miyata, 95, of Orland Park, passed away October 25, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Florence Miyata; loving father of the late Ron Miyata; loyal brother of Tom (Sachi) Miyata, Mary (Mits) Miyamoto and the late Sue (Eddie) Hamade; cherished brother-in-law of Sam (Elsa) Sagara , George Sagara, Tad (Emily) Sagara, Hiko Sagara, Jane (Yoneo) Okimoto, Yuriko (Isamu) Nakao and Ann Nishimura.
Mas was born January 24, 1924 in Inglewood, California. He served in the U.S. Army as a Technician 4th Grade (TEC4) in World War II and Korea conflicts from 1946 to 1948, and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. Mas and his brother Tom operated the Piccadilly Garage on the south side of Chicago for over 60 years.
Services were held at Midwest Buddhist Temple, 435 W. Menomonee St. Chicago, IL 60614.
