New Scholarship on Japanese History: Economy, Environment, Entanglement (Online)

Recent work on Japanese history emphasizes new ways to analyze the economy that uses energy expenditure as the basic unit of analysis rather than money, which incorporates environmental thinking into it, for example drawing our attention to entirely different domestic and international trade routes and infrastructure development. This webinar explores recent scholarship on Japanese history with a focus on economy and environment. The featured speaker is Dr. Laura Hein, Professor of History at Northwestern University.

Hours: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm Chicago time
