"Oishisou!” Anime Sweets Book Talk & Demo (online)

Join food stylist and cookbook author Hadley Sui in conversation with illustrator Monique Narboneta Zosa as they discuss their book “Oishisou!! The Ultimate Anime Dessert Cookbook,” published in June of this year. Featuring over 60 desserts and confections drawn from Japanese animation, the book celebrates food and anime, two gateways to learning about Japanese culture. Hadley will discuss her pastry background and path to Japanese pastries, as well as her experience creating the book. Monique will share her creative process behind the book’s vibrant and captivating images. Then, Hadley will lead a live demo of two recipes from the book, followed by a Q&A. This will be hosted by the Japan America Society of Chicago.
