Winter Solstice Sit (In-person/Online)

  • Midwest Buddhist Temple 435 West Menomonee Street Chicago, IL, 60614 United States (map)

Eli Brown, minister’s assistant, and Zen Shin meditation sangha leader, will be leading an evening workshop at the Midwest Buddhist Temple centered on exploring the idea of grief as a portal, or many portals, that arise in our experience and bring us through time, memory, and dreaming spaces. As we observe the seasonal portal of the winter solstice and are transported into the depths of the long months, we will examine ways that grief shows up in our bodies. Through sound, silence, and movement exercises, we offer ourselves the opportunity to traverse these portals while being held in community. There will be limited in-person tickets available, and unlimited virtual tickets.
